From Gayle Sticher:
Thanks to everyone who participated in Atherton BikeFest Audax last weekend. It was an amazing weekend of all things cycling.

I have (finally) completed a Ride Report (http://www.longrides.bike) and collated ride times (http://www.longrides.bike/?page_id=17517) for the 100km, 200km and 75km dirt rides.

Stay tuned for more details of our next 100km Audax ride on 4 December 2016, starting on Cairns Esplanade. Our Christmas Ride is enticingly titled “Rudolph’s Revenge”, with Wil Bird as RO.

MalenyMee – 300k – (22/10/16)

Peter Watson, Philip Giddings and Alex Morgan completed this ride.
Stand-in RO Peter Watson: Hi Brian, We all finished within 40 min of each other. I got in 9:20 and Philip just after 10. I got a bit of rain on jinker track, otherwise a dry ride. All went well. Peter

Sarina Double Century – Saturday Nov 12th 2016

November is a terrible time for riding in Mackay, between the heat and the magpies, however if you must then along the coast is best. So it’s time to venture a little further afield and take in the beautiful coastal terrain around Sarina. This ride of just under 201 km takes you to many of the scenic vantage points along the coast including Freshwater Point, Campwin Beach, Grasstree Beach and Louisa Creek. Starts outside McDonalds and Corry Cycles on Kay Crt. Expect a warm start to the day and some real heat by the time you head home, but the views are worth the pain.
